Immigration Attorney (California)

Job Description:

Immigration law firm in Flushing, New York, we are a busy, well established law firm. We are looking for an immigration attorney to assist our law firm. We handle all aspects of immigration cases, such as, Cancellation of Removal, Asylum, Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJS) cases, Naturalization, Family Petition, Adjustment of Status, VAWA, U-Visas and nonimmigrant visas (H-1B, L-1, E-1/2/3, J), immigrant visas (PERM, EB-1).

Responsibilities and Duties of immigration attorney:

• Provide legal representation to individuals on immigration matters including representation in court appearances.
• Conduct thorough consultations with clients and make appropriate referrals to outside agencies and prepping sessions with clients for interviews with immigration judges.
• Supervise the work of paralegals in recordkeeping and document preparation.
• Preparing documents in client’s file.
• Managing legal documentation and correspondence confidentiality.
• Drafting motions, orders, judgments and status updates.

Qualifications and Skills of immigration attorney:

• Admission to the bar in the state of New York which you need to practice.
• Bilingual in Chinese is a plus.
• At least 1-2 years of experience or expertise is preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate attention to detail.
• Detail-oriented, self-starter with the ability to multi-task.
• Work independently, and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent bilingual verbal communication skills between clients and attorneys.
• Have work authorization in United States.

Experience: at least 1 year experience is preferred; asylum case experience preferred

Salary: $60,000 - $100,000 Annually

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $57,265.00 - $109,347.00 per year
